VA Home Loan Mortgage Rates December 7 – Rates Mixed
Posted on | December 7, 2009 | 1 Comment
VA home loan mortgage rates for December 7th, 2009 have been mixed all day. To start the day the conventional 30 year fixed mortgage was up but has recently turned around and is down to 4.7%. The conventional 15 year fixed was up early as well but is now down to 4.2%. The conventional 5/1 ARM is up to 3.81%. VA home loan mortgage rates are generally .5% to 1% lower than conventional mortgage rates but make sure to check with your lender and see what rate you can qualify for.
The 10 year treasury rate yield is pulling back early this week after seeing a rise of over 7% last week. This move higher helped push conventional mortgage rates from 4.49% to 4.75%. The 4.49% level achieve during the last weekend of November was an all time low. It will be very interesting to see if mortgage rates can achieve this all time low again in the near future.
The year of 2010 is sure to be interesting in the housing market. The first few months are going to see a swarm of refinance applications because mortgage rates continue to remain under 5%. If you have been thinking about refinancing it would be a good idea to go ahead and get started so your mortgage application is not on the bottom of the stack and you miss out on extremely low rates.
