Getting an unemployment loan has gained in popularity as the unemployment rate continues to rise. President Obama recently announced that he felt the unemployment rate was going to continue to rise to double digits. We are already at 9.8% so that is not far away. Many unemployed Americans are finding it very hard to make ends meet financially so they want to know how much money they can borrow while being unemployed.
If you are unemployed and you are running out of options there are a few companies out there that have created unemployment loans to help you out. These companies are taking a huge risk by allowing unemployed citizens to borrow money because there is a good chance that this money will never get paid back. If you have no money coming in how is it possible to pay back a loan?
These unemployment loan companies are offering loans with deferred payments. The payment on your loan will not start until you get a job. The risk these companies are taking is that it may take you several months or even several years to get a job. The entire time that you do not have a job they will be receiving no payments. They are banking on you getting a job and the economy improving.
The entire time that you are not paying on your loan interest will be building up. If you have a very high interest rate you could find that the interest you pay over time might get out of control. This should encourage you to get a job much quicker but with few jobs out there this can be very stressful. This is the exact reason you should do your best to get the lowest interest rate possible.
The amount of money you can borrow with an unemployment loan is strictly determined by each situation. if you have very good credit and a MBA then it is likely that you will be able to borrow more than someone with bad credit and no high school degree. That being said borrowing money while on unemployment can be difficult no matter what your credit score or education level is.
