Government Free Credit Score Not Available in 2011 – Homeowners and Borrowers Seek Experian, Equifax and Transunion History Analysis

With interest rates getting very close to all-time low levels it comes as no surprise to see many homeowners and borrowers looking to refinance a home loan or negotiate lower interest rates on a credit card. Some of these individuals will likely seek a government free credit score online but it is important to note but there is no such service in 2011.

At the present time there is a free annual credit report that includes a credit history analysis from the bureaus of Experian, Equifax and Transunion but this does not include a free credit score. To obtain a credit score it will likely cost between $15 and $40 depending on the services desired in the number of credit scores purchased.

The free annual credit report is only available at one website – annualcreditreport.com. The previously mentioned website has both government and FTC approval to offer one free credit report to all Americans every 365 days. If there are any other websites claiming to have this resource it could be the case that they are punished in the near future as the FTC is coming down very hard on websites making false claims.

As we get closer to the fall 2011 and will likely be the case that more and more Americans look to submit refinance applications. With the Christmas holiday shopping season just around the corner it should come as no surprise to see a large number of individuals hoping to save money before spending a ton during the months of November and December.

With this in mind it may be a very wise decision to take advantage of the free annual credit report and make certain that there are no mistakes or errors. Unfortunately, some American guy throughout their entire adult life without recognizing the mistakes or errors could negatively affect your credit score by as much as 100 points.
