Posted on | July 28, 2011 | Comments Off

Over the last few years a large number of  Americans have taken advantage of the free annual credit report online that offers an instant analysis from the bureaus of Experian, Equifax and Transunion. It is important to note that the federal government and FTC only support one website when it comes to this free credit report – annualcreditreport.com.

Many Americans could stand to benefit by taking advantage of this resource as it will likely allow them an opportunity to better understand how creditors look at their specific financial situation. Unfortunately, many Americans do not recognize that there could be errors or mistakes that are negatively affecting a credit score.

By allowing inaccuracies to build on a financial history report it could be the case that some Americans miss out on an opportunity to save a significant amount of cash with low interest rates. This is one of the many reasons that the federal government offers a free annual credit report that will allow individuals and opportunity to address these concerns.

At the present time there is no such thing as a government free credit score as Americans must pay a fee to receive a numerical value on their financial history. This phase usually between $15 and $40 depending on the service but it could be well worth it for those looking to improve their financial history.

As we get closer to the fall of 2011 there is a possibility that interest rates will rise. For well over two years we have seen 30 year fixed mortgage rates very close to all-time lows but as the overall economy improves will likely see these rates move higher. Rather than missing out on an opportunity to take advantage of allowing first-rate environment and may be advisable to start research sooner rather than later.
