Government Free Annual Credit Score Not Part of Annual Credit Report – Customers Pay for Triple Score in July 2011

With interest rates still very close to all time lows many hard working Americans are seeking to refinance a home loan or negotiate lower interest rates on an unsecured personal loan or credit card.  Before doing some, some individuals may seek a credit score to help them better understand how their financial situation looks in the eyes of creditors.

At the present time there is no such thing as a government free annual credit score but there is a free annual credit report.  By accessing the website annualcreditreport.com Americans will receive a free credit report from Experian, Equifax and Transunion every 365 days.

It is important to recognize that this free credit history report is only a report.  For those looking to put a numerical value on a financial history report it will likely cost between $15 and $40 depending on the service.  It is often true that a triple credit score from all the bureaus is a little more expensive.

It is sometimes well worth it to spend this extra money when it comes to better understanding a financial history.  Unfortunately, many Americans go into the loan process having no idea what creditors think of their financial situation.  Obviously this can cause huge problems if there are errors or mistakes on a credit history report.

Rather than allowing mistakes to accumulate on a credit history report it would be smart to access the free annual credit report online.  By simply taking the time and effort to do this some Americans could end up saving hundreds and even thousands when it comes to the loan process.  This is one of the many reasons the US Government created the free annual credit report.
