Free Annual Credit Report – Online Access to Credit History from Experian, Equifax and Transunion in May 2011

Posted on | May 23, 2011 | Comments Off

The online free annual credit report that includes a credit history from the bureaus of Experian, Equifax and Transunion is available at the website annualcreditreport.com with government and FTC approval. It is important to note that this is the only website that has government approval in May of 2011.

The federal government FTC have worked very hard to monitor this industry as the FTC has come down hard on many websites that claim government approval. At the present time the only website that is supported by both the FTC and the federal government is annualcreditreport.com so Americans are urged to use only this resource.

Rather than going throughout his entire adult life without checking a financial history it is always a wise choice to do as much research as possible to completely understand how creditors look at a specific financial situation. By having mistakes or inaccuracies on a credit history report it could be the case that some Americans are seeing their credit score negatively affected by as much as 100 points.

As we get closer to the summer of 2011 there is a possibility that interest rates could rise as the economy gets much better. If the unemployment rate drops well below 8% and we continue to see economic growth than there will likely be no reason for the federal reserve bank to take the necessary steps to keep rates low.

With this in mind it may be a wise decision to take advantage of the low interest-rate environment while it is available. By doing research online most will find that mortgage rates are available under 5% and there are many credit card companies that are offering very low interest rate credit cards. Without an impressive credit score it is nearly impossible to lock into these low rates.
