Since the beginning of April 2011 we have seen the 30 year fixed mortgage rate dropped drastically from 4.8% all the way to 4.4%. Most homeowners are finding that Wells Fargo refinance mortgage rates are available under 4.5% with homeowners who have a very good credit score that is above 740.

Unfortunately, some Americans have made very poor financial decisions in the recent past which makes it very difficult to lock into the lowest mortgage interest rates at the present time. With this being true it is always advisable to make certain that a high interest rate debts are paid down before going into the refinance process in May of 2011.

Wells Fargo is currently one of the largest financial institutions in the country but it is very important to recognize that it is not the only option when it comes to locking in the lowest rates. By doing research online most homeowners will find that their are over 7000 FDIC insured financial institutions that could help when it comes to finding the lowest home loan rates.

As we get closer to the summer of 2011 most Americans feel as if the economy could get better which in turn could push interest rates slightly higher. For quite some time analysts and economists have stated that as the overall economy improves it will likely be true that the federal reserve bank no longer needs to take the necessary steps to keep interest rates near all-time lows.

With this in mind it will likely be true that the overall market sets interest rates which would likely mean that we see higher 30 year fixed rates. Rather than waiting until the economy gets much better interest rates move up it is always advisable to take advantage of the low interest rate environment while it is available.
