Over the last several years tax preparation assistance has grown in popularity as more and more Americans do not have the time to file their own taxes. One company that noticed this trend was the largest retailer in the world WalMart. In 2011 Jackson Hewitt and WalMart are teaming up to offer 2010 income tax filing within a store for those in the United States.
Rather than fighting the battle of better understanding the changes in the tax code it is always advisable for Americans with little time to seek help. Even though it is the case that not all help will cost money it is often true that when it comes to filing taxes most professionals will charge some type of fee for their services.
In a national marketing campaign WalMart and Jackson Hewitt are stating that they will offer taxes as low as $38 when it comes to filing within the store. It is very important to note that these are probably the taxes that are offered for those with the most common tax forms and individuals who have not had capital gains or losses in 2010.
The more expensive and difficult to tax form it is often the case that customers will pay a little bit more when it comes to having taxes filed by a preparation software company or an accountant. It is always wise to ask questions early in the process rather than going through the entire tax forms is to find out it is going to cost a significant amount more than expected.
As we get closer and closer to April 15, 2011 more Americans will scramble when it comes to filing taxes. Rather than waiting until the last minute it may be a good decision to start research early and understand just which process is going to be used to file federal and state income taxes for 2010.
