Compare Mortgage Interest Rates Today – February 26 Weekend VA and FHA Home Loans Below 5%

Last week we saw the 10 year treasury rate yields drop below its 50 day moving average which in turn help to push 30 year fixed mortgage rates below 5%. At the present time, on February 26, we are seeing 30 year fixed mortgage rates around 4.75% but it is important to recognize that these are interest rate quotes that are only available to the best borrowers.
With low rates available for many homeowners it comes as little surprise to see many of these individuals looking to compare mortgage interest rates today. By doing research online most homeowners will find that both VA and FHA home loans are near historical lows due to the fact that the economy has struggled to recover.
With that being said it is important to also understand that when the economy improves there is a very good chance that we could see 30 year fixed mortgage rates accelerate well through 5%. Homeowners would be advised to at least start the research process on refinancing rather than waiting to see the economy recover and interest rates move higher.
Over the next several weeks we will get a much better understanding as to where mortgage rates are headed in the near term. With the 10 year treasury rate yield holding on to its 50 day moving average there’s a very good chance that it could see a bump higher next week which in turn would push mortgage rates back towards the 5% mark.
If the 10 year treasury rate yield continues to break down and drops all the way down to its 200 day moving average and there is a strong likelihood that we would continue to see mortgage rates drop well below 5% possibly even getting as low as 4.5%. The next few days should be very telling when it comes to the future of interest rates in the United States.
