Bad Credit Unsecured Personal Loans – Low Interest Rate Credit Cards Hard to Find for Poor Credit Borrowers
Posted on | February 23, 2011 | No Comments
Over the last several years many people have found that a bad credit score makes it very difficult to borrow money at low interest rates. Two very common ways to borrow money with poor credit include unsecured personal loans and bad credit credit cards. Before deciding on either loan type it is always advisable to do research and understand each and every step of the process.
As we get deeper into 2011 many analysts predict that interest rates could move higher as the overall economy improves. Even though bad credit borrowers have not been able to take advantage of the low interest-rate environment it is something that has existed since the beginning of the credit crisis and could be over in the very near future.
For those who have very bad credit is likely the case that finding low interest rates on credit cards or personal loans is nearly impossible. With a credit score well under 680 and a very high debt to income ratio most lenders are not willing to allow borrowers access to money unless there is a high interest rate applied.
With this in mind it is always a wise decision to increase the credit score to the best of one’s ability. By paying down many of those high interest rate credit cards and reducing the debt to income ratio individuals will be illustrating the fact that they are smart with their money and they will make payments on time and in full.
Even though it could take several years and possibly even decades to repair a severely damaged credit score is still advisable to start today. Luckily, the FTC website has many free resources that should help Americans better understand how to create a strong weekly or monthly budget which in turn could help them better understand how to pay down those high interest rate debt.
