Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – 2011 Home Loan Rates Around 4.85% for the 30 Year Fixed in February

When homeowners look for today’s lowest mortgage interest rates they will likely find that on February 16, 2011 30 year fixed rates are around 4.85%. Over the last three days we have seen 30 year fixed rates around this level due to the fact that the 10 year treasury rate yield has stabilized.
Early in the month we saw the 10 year treasury rate yield accelerated to a new 2011 high which pushed 30 year fixed mortgage rates very close to 5% but since then we have seen the 10 year yield around 3.6%. It will be very interesting to see what happens over the next several weeks and months as there is a strong possibility that the overall economy could improve greatly.
As the overall economy improves and will likely be the case that interest rates start to move much higher. With businesses making more money and individuals back to work there is no reason that the federal government should hold interest rates low to allow individuals or businesses to borrow money at cheaper rates.
With this in mind it may be a very wise decision to take advantage of the current low interest rate environment as it may be gone before we know it. 30 year fixed mortgage rates still below 5% there many opportunities to save in the current economic environment. Remember that there are many mortgage lenders spread throughout the United States that will be more than willing to help individuals when it comes to locking in the lowest possible interest rates.
It is also important to remember that this is a very competitive industry so it would be wise to contact several mortgage lenders before making a final decision.
