It is amazing to realize that there are millions of Americans to go throughout their adult life without ever checking a credit report.
Some of these same individuals who claim that they make all of their payments on time and in full survey have nothing to worry about when it comes to a low credit score. Unfortunately, these individuals could have mistakes or errors that are negatively affecting their credit score and they have absolutely no idea. Some great borrowers of money could see their credit score negatively affected by 100 points due to inaccuracies.
With this in mind it is always a wise decision to take advantage of the free annual credit report that is sponsored by the US government and FTC. With this credit report being completely free there is no reason to pass up on the opportunity to see what is being reported on a financial history.
With interest rates near historic lows now would be a great time to take advantage of borrowing money at very low rates. The Federal Reserve bank as stated many times that interest rates will stay low as long as the economy struggles so it may be a good time to get a low interest rate on a car loan, personal loan, home loan or credit card. Before doing so it is always a good decision to create an exit plan to pay off these loans.
