Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – 15 and 30 Year Fixed Home Loans Drop on Thursday, January 13

When looking for today’s lowest mortgage interest rates many homeowners will notice that both 15 and 30 year fixed home loan interest rate have dropped since yesterday. On Thursday, January 13, 2011 we are seeing 15 year fixed mortgage rates around 3.96% while 30 year fixed mortgage rates are around 4.6%.
When looking at a historical chart of mortgage rates is quite clear that these are some of the lowest levels we have seen in recent history. Even though these are not the all time lows that were tested back in November of 2010 they are still very attractive the homeowners looking to save a little bit of extra cash by reducing a home loan payment beginning in January of 2011.
Remember that it takes a very impressive credit history and low debt to income ratio to have any opportunity to lock in to the lowest possible mortgage interest rates. Unfortunately, many Americans have found that it is quite difficult to improve a severely damaged credit score as it takes multiple years of paying bills on time and in full. With this in mind it is always wise to make certain that all bills are paid no matter what.
For those Americans who have been diligent in making sure bills are paid their great savings to be had in the current low interest rate environment. With 30 year fixed mortgage rates well below 5% there quite a few extra opportunities to refinance and save before the economy improves and mortgage rates start to move higher. It may be wise to take advantage of low rates now rather than waiting and hoping that they drop even more.
The Federal reserve bank as stated many times that 30 year fixed mortgage rates will likely move up as the economy improves. Homeowners truly believe that the economy is going to get better and it would be very smart to get the refinance application and before 30 year fixed mortgage rates start to move towards 5% and possibly even 6%.
