Federal Government Credit Card Debt Relief – Changes for Obama Administration with Debt Settlement and Debt Reduction

As the overall US economy begins to recover it is still the case that many individuals are struggling when it comes to personal finances. Many of these same hard-working Americans will likely look for federal government credit card debt relief plans, programs or services. While this is a great thought it is important to remember that there is no such thing as an Obama or government credit card debt relief plan.
The Obama administration has done a great amount of work to help Americans when it comes to reducing high interest-rate debt. On October 27, 2010 the Obama administration greatly change the debt reduction and debt settlement industry. It is now the case that these companies can no longer charge upfront fees for services that have not been completed.
While many may think this is not a major step that could help hundreds of thousands of individuals avoid scams when it comes to credit card debt relief. Rather than going through the entire debt relief process and paying huge amounts and not from fees it will now be the case that these individuals know that companies will be working in the best interest of the customer.
The FTC website offers many valuable resources to help Americans better understand what options are available when it comes to high interest rate credit card debt. Unfortunately, many Americans do not realize that the FTC has these valuable resources and they quickly pass up any thoughts of any alternatives to credit card debt relief.
Taking the time and effort to do a significant amount of research on the FTC website could prove to be greatly beneficial when it comes to reducing high interest rate debts. Rather than making minimum payments each and every month it would be a very wise decision to create a strong weekly or monthly budget and pay down these high interest rate issues.
