As 2011 nears it is the case the 30 year fixed mortgage rates have moved up from 4% all the way to 5% in a matter of just a few weeks. When looking for today’s lowest mortgage interest rates customers will likely find that the 30 year fixed mortgage is between 4.75% and 5% which is a drastically from the beginning of November.
When it comes to making fixed interest rate predictions are forecast a can be very difficult when the Federal Reserve is taking the necessary actions to keep interest rates low. Since the credit crisis it has been the case that the Federal Reserve continues to make the necessary purchases to keep interest rates at very attractive levels for businesses and customers.
By keeping interest rates low the Federal Reserve hopes to stimulate the economy due to the fact that people will be much more willing to borrow money. Unfortunately, it is the case that this slow growth over the last few years has caused many to dig themselves into even bigger amounts of debt which is hurting the overall economy.
With that being said, there’s still many signs that show economic growth in the very near future. The stock market has greatly improved and many people are predicting that 2011 could be a very good year when it comes to the United States economy. If the economy continues to improve than there is a very good chance that we could see mortgage interest rates move much higher.
Taking the time and effort to do research on today’s lowest mortgage interest rates could prove to be greatly beneficial as many Americans will likely find that there are opportunities to save. The general rule of calm as a homeowner should look to save at least one full percentage point to cover closing costs and fully benefit from refinancing today.
