It is very hard to believe that 30 year fixed mortgage rates are over 5% as just one month ago we were seeing 30 year fixed mortgage rates around 4%. Home mortgage refinance loan rates have been on quite the roller coaster ride as the 10 year treasury rate yield has pushed up drastically over the last six weeks.


It will be very interesting to see how homeowners react over the next several weeks as it is often the case that rising mortgage rates that are homeowners from going to the refinance process. With this being said there were still many that are hoping to lock into rates below 5% before they move much higher.


There are many mortgage lenders on the local, national and regional level that can help homeowners when it comes to receiving low interest rate quotes. It is important to remember that it takes an amazing credit score, usually about 740, to have any opportunity to receive the lowest possible mortgage interest rates at the present time.

In 2011 there could be a good chance that we see 30 year fixed rates move as high as 6%.

Unfortunately, for those Americans who have made bad financial decisions in the past it could be very difficult to take advantage of the currently low 30 year fixed mortgage rates. Even though 30 year fixed rates have moved up drastically they are still very low when looking at the historical chart but mortgage lenders are much more strict with their lending practices after the credit crisis.
