The federal reserve bank has consistently taken the necessary steps to keep interest rates low by his stated that when the economy recovers interest rates will likely move up. Since the beginning of November 2010 30 year fixed mortgage rates have moved up .75% and it will be interesting to hear the Fed’s commentary later today.
If the federal reserve bank takes no steps to keep interest rates low and there is a very strong possibility that we could see 5% 30 year fixed rates in the very near future. Rather than waiting for mortgage rates to turn around and start moving back to 4% and may be a wise decision for homeowners to do a little bit of research and see if it is a wise decision to complete the refinance process now before rates move towards 6%.
Luckily, there are many free resources available online to help homeowners better understand their options when it comes to locking in the lowest possible 30 year fixed mortgage rates.
