Save Money Any Way Possible

Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – 30 Year Fixed Home Loans Up to 4.75% in Mid December 2010

Posted on | December 10, 2010 | No Comments

Over the last month we have seen 30 year fixed mortgage rates jumped from 4.0% all the way to 4.75% which has been greatly caused by the rise of the 10 year treasury rate yield. When looking for today’s lowest mortgage interest rates it is very important to recognize that it could be difficult to receive an interest rate quote under 5%.

Unfortunately, as interest rates start to rise it is usually the case that it is much harder to lock into those rates we once all just a month ago. Only the best borrowers of money, those with a credit score above 740, will have any opportunity to lock in to these low rates in December of 2010. Even though this is the case they are still opportunities available.

By having a very impressive credit score and a low debt to income ratio many Americans will have a great opportunity to save money during the current interest rate environment. Even though mortgage rates have moved up three quarters of a percentage point it is still the case that they are very low when looking at a historical chart. With this in mind it may be wise to consider refinancing if homeowners can save one full percentage point.

If one full percentage point can not be saved it is often the case for closing costs outweigh benefits and it is not worth the extra time and effort to complete the refinance process. Luckily, there many mortgage calculators available online to help home owners better understand that there are options available to refinance to a much lower home loan interest rate during the current month.

As we get closer to the Christmas holiday is often the case that most Americans are not thinking about personal finances. They are thinking about traveling home for the holidays, spending time with their family, and buying Christmas gifts for little ones. With this being the case refinance activity is likely to be very low in December of 2010.
