Wells Fargo Refinance Mortgage Rates – Fixed Home Loans Jump to New Multi Month Highs in December

Wells Fargo refinance mortgage rates continue to go for a wild ride on December 9, 2010. In the last month we have seen 30 year fixed mortgage rates jumped from 4% although way up to 4.65%. Unfortunately, it looks as if the 10 year treasury rate yield is going to extend higher which means higher overall mortgage interest rates.
Each and every time that the 30 year fixed mortgage rate has moved up drastically it is the case that the Federal Reserve has taken the necessary steps to keep interest rates low. In the last several weeks the federal reserve continues to sit on the sidelines while the 10 year treasury rate yield moves to the upside.
This could mean that the overall economy is improving greatly and the Federal Reserve feels that there is no reason to keep interest rates low. It could also mean that the Federal Reserve is waiting until the new year to take the necessary steps to push interest rates back to lower levels. Even though rates have moved up they are still very low when looking at historical charts.
For those looking to refinance a home loan or car loan in the current economic environment is very important to remember that it takes an impressive credit score and a very low debt to income ratio to have any opportunity at these low rates. With a credit score that is in excess of 740 and the debt to income ratios this sub 40% homeowners will have positioned themselves very well with the good financial decisions they have made in the past.
If the opposite is true of homeowners have seen a huge drop in their credit score is going to be nearly impossible to take advantage of the fixed home loan interest rates that are below 5% at the present time. Homeowners with a poor credit score will probably find that they receive interest rate quotes that are much higher than the advertised rates on the television and Internet.
