Throughout the month of November mortgage rates have been in the range of 4% to 4.4% when it comes to the 30 year fixed. It is important to remember that at the beginning of the month 30 year fixed rates were at the lowest levels while they moved up throughout the entire month and are currently now around 4.4%.
When looking for the lowest December FHA and VA home loan interest rates it may be the case that the 4.4% level as the lowest we say. With that being said the federal reserve bank continues to take every step possible to make 100% certain that interest rates stay low.
Even with the Federal Reserve working very hard to keep interest rates low it still may be the case that 30 year fixed rates move up during the end of the year. Homeowners will likely wait until mortgage rates drop again to truly jump into the refinance process as millions of Americans have already refinanced their home loans during the current low interest rate environment that has lasted almost 2 years.
As we get closer to the Christmas holiday shopping season it is generally the case that Americans do not think about home loans and personal finances. They are much more interested in spending time with their family and purchasing Christmas gifts and presents for their loved ones. When the new year rolls around they will likely be the case that many people start to analyze their personal finances.
It will be very interesting to see what 2011 brings when it comes to mortgage interest rate. With many Americans looking to save as much money as possible with a high unemployment rate it may be the case that we see more refinances than any other year in the history of the United States housing market. If interest rates stay extremely low this could definitely come true as homeowners will be looking to cut back.
