As we are just one day away from Thanksgiving and will likely be the case that many Americans do not think about personal finances when it comes to home loans and other related issues. With that being said some people may still look for today’s lowest mortgage interest rates as mortgage rates have dropped to 4.25% over the last few days.

The federal reserve bank has taken every step possible to make 100% certain that mortgage rates stay very close to all-time lows. With this being the case there are many opportunities for homeowners to save by going to the refinance process in November or December of 2010.

It is very important for all homeowners to realize that it takes equity in a home loan combined with a very impressive credit score and a low debt to income ratio to have any opportunity at low mortgage rates today. With a credit score above 740 and the debt to income ratio that is well below 40% homeowners could have a very good chance to refinance to a historically low rates around 4.25%.

For those who have already refinanced in the last several years is generally the case that a full percentage point must be saved to benefit from the refinance process. By not saving one full percentage point it will likely be the case that closing costs outweigh benefits. If one full percentage point as possibly saved than it is very smart to at least consider the refinance process in late 2010 or early 2011.

As we get closer to the holiday shopping season it will be the case that more and more Americans look to make gift purchases. There’s very little doubt that American households spend more money in November and December than during any other months of the year. With this being the case it may be a very smart decision to save a little bit of extra money by locking into low mortgage interest rates today.
