Federal Government Credit Card Debt Relief – Changes Enforced By Obama Administration on Debt Settlement Companies

Over the last several years millions of Americans have struggled with high interest rate credit card debt which in turn has made them search for federal government credit card debt relief programs, services and plans. These struggling Americans must understand that at the present time there is no such thing as a no bomb or government credit card debt relief program.
In fact, the Obama administration has greatly change the rules when it comes to debt settlement and debt relief. It is no longer the case that these companies can charge upfront fees for their services. It used to be the case that these companies could charge fees before services were completed which in turn caused many scams and illegitimate transactions.
It is now the case that companies must provide a service before any money exchanges hands. This will help many homeowners better understand their rights and know that they will be working with companies that are looking out for them. With this being the case it is much easier to find a debt relief company that will work with customers rather than just to make money.
Even though this is the case it is still very wise to do research and understand what options are available when it comes to credit card debt relief or debt settlement. There are many free resources available on the FTC website to help home owners better understand what options they have as alternatives to debt relief.
One of the best ways to get out of credit card debt is to create a very strong weekly or monthly budget. By knowing where money is spent it is often the case that Americans can cut back and save much more than they are spending. Unfortunately, many Americans make a budget but they do not stick to it. The FTC free resources can help almost all Americans understand how to not only make this budget but to stick to it as well.
