Federal Government Credit Card Debt Relief – Obama Administration Works to Help Customers Avoid Scams

As the unemployment rate remains close to 10% and millions of Americans have exhausted their unemployment benefits that comes as no surprise to see a large number of people looking for a federal government credit card debt relief program, service or plan. It is very important for the struggling Americans to recognize that at the present time there is no such thing as an Obama or government credit card debt relief plan.
The Obama administration has worked very hard to make 100% certain that Americans have the ability to avoid scams easily. It used to be the case that credit card debt relief companies to charge upfront fees for services that were not completed. This is no longer the case as the Obama administration and FTC changed the rules on October 27, 2010.
Before making the assumption that credit card debt relief is right for a specific financial situation it is always wise to step back and look at the options. The FTC website has many valuable resources that can help Americans when it comes to budgeting money correctly. It is quite surprising to know that millions of Americans have no idea where their money is being spent.
Taking this extra time to create a weekly or monthly budget and a spreadsheet could prove to be greatly beneficial when it comes to getting out of credit card debt quickly. It is important to realize that getting out of credit card debt is not an overnight process as it can sometimes take years and even decades to improve a very poor credit history.
Even though this is the case it is still wise to attack this problem as soon as possible. By completing due diligence and homework a growing number of Americans could start to get out of credit card debt without going through the debt relief for debt settlement process in November or December of 2010.
