Compare Mortgage Interest Rates Today – Lowest Refinance FHA and VA Home Loans Could Be Gone

It is very surprising to see theĀ 30 year fixed conventional mortgage rates move all the way up to 4.4% from 4% in just two weeks. With many Americans looking to compare mortgage interest rates today it is the case that they are finding that the lowest refinance FHA and VA loan rates may be a thing of the past as the 10 year treasury rate yield is increasing.


Over the last two years it has been the case that the federal reserve bank has taken the necessary steps to keep interest rates low but the 10 year treasury rate yields still has a very strong correlation with the 30 year fixed mortgage. Every time the 10 year treasury rate yield starts to move higher it is the case that the 30 year fixed rate follows shortly thereafter.


With the overall market looking to set mortgage interest rates it will be very interesting to see what happens with the Federal Reserve Bank. The Federal Reserve Bank has taken every step possible to keep interest rates low but eventually overall markets will set interest rates which could mean that they move up very quickly.

When looking to compare mortgage interest rates today and find the lowest possible rates and is also important for homeowners to understand that it takes a very impressive credit history. Mortgage lenders have been very strict with their lending practices which means it could be difficult for poor credit borrowers to receive low interest rate offers in the current economic environment.

Taking the time to do research and making certain that a credit report is completely free of errors could save many American homeowners quite a bit of extra money. By having a very good financial history some homeowners have found that they are saving hundreds of dollars on a monthly mortgage payment as they are being rewarded for their strong financial decisions throughout the credit crisis and over the last few months.
