Over the last week we have seen the 10 year treasury rate yield move up from 2.5% to around 2.9%. This has subsequently pushed Wells Fargo refinance mortgage rates higher as 15 year home loan interest rates are now around 3.75%. Just a few weekends ago we saw 15 year fixed rates as low as 3.5%.
While Wells Fargo is currently one of the largest mortgage lenders in the country it is very important to recognize that they are not the only option. With the purchase of Wachovia during the credit crisis Wells Fargo became one of the big four banks in America along with Bank of America, Chase and Citigroup.
Even though these banks have the largest deposits and often hold the most mortgages it is the case that there are also many other options available as well. By doing research online many homeowners will find local, regional and national mortgage lenders that can help them when it comes to reducing a home loan payment in November of 2010.
As with any major financial decision in one’s life is always very important to do research and understand what options are available. There are many different types of mortgages and many long periods that will help Americans reduce their current monthly payment. It may be a wise decision to consider an exit plan when it comes to these payments as sometimes it is the case at low earlier payments could lead to higher payments on the backend.
Taking advantage of the current low interest rate environment could help many Americans save quite a bit of extra cash. With the Christmas holiday shopping season just around the corner it is the case that many households know that they will spend a little bit of extra money so it may be wise to cut back in other areas such as reducing the home loan payment.
