As millions of Americans are starting to think about the holiday shopping season one thing that is very important is to receive the lowest interest rates possible on money that is borrowed. There is currently a free annual credit report from Experian, Equifax and Transunion that is offered from the federal government at the website annualcreditreport.com.  At the present time the government nor the FTC sponsor a free credit score from these credit bureaus.

To gain access to a credit score is generally going to cost between $15 and $30. Sometimes it is worth it to spend this little bit of extra money to have the ability to put a numerical value on a credit and financial history. By having a very impressive credit score and will likely be the case that customers have negotiating power when it comes to lower interest rates on a personal loan, home loan or credit cards.

If there are any mistakes on a credit report it is very important to get them fixed as soon as possible. By having mistakes on a credit report it could negatively affect a credit score which in turn could push interest rates much higher on any amount of money that has been borrowed.
