When looking to save money many homeowners are seeking today’s lowest mortgage interest rates.  At the present time we continue to see 30 year home loan bank rates around 4.25% which could save millions of homeowners quite a bit of money on a monthly payment.  That being said, it takes a great credit score to access these historically low rates.

Before making any assumptions it is very important to understand that it takes an impressive credit history to have any chance to lock in to 30 year fixed mortgage rates under 5%.  By having a credit score that is above 740, equity in your current home and a debt to income ratio that is below 40% you will have a great chance to lock in to today’s lowest mortgage interest rates.

Taking the time and effort to go above and beyond to do research could prove to be greatly beneficial when it comes to locking in these historically low rates.  Almost all mortgage lenders and banks have online resources that were created to help Americans better understand their options when it comes to gaining access to these currently low rates.
