Struggling with personal finances has been an ongoing theme for many Americans and 2010. With this being the case a large number of people continue to search for the federal government credit card debt relief plans and programs. It is very important to understand that the present time there is no such thing as a government or Obama program for debt relief or debt settlement.
On October 27, 2010 it will be the case that the federal government is going to start enforcing new laws when it comes to the debt relief industry. It will no longer be the case that these companies can charge upfront fees and their marketing efforts must be changed. Anything marketed by these companies must be obtainable without paying upfront fees.
Before going into the debt relief process it is always a smart decision to do research and understand what options are available. It may be the case that borrowers just need to create a very strong budget which in turn can help them to avoid the high interest rate credit cards that have been holding them back.
