Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – 30 Year Fixed Refinance Rates at 4.4% on September 20

Today’s lowest mortgage interest rates are slightly off all-time lows but we are still seeing 30 year fixed refinance rates below 4.5%. On September 20, 2010 the 30 year fixed mortgage rate is around 4.4% for well-qualified homeowners. It is important to realize that not all Americans will have the ability to login to the lowest possible mortgage interest rates.
Taking the time and effort to do research could prove to be greatly beneficial when locking into today’s lowest mortgage interest rates. There many mortgage lenders throughout the country that are offering very attractive opportunities but it takes homework and a great credit score to have any opportunity at these low rates. By having a credit score above 740, a debt to income ratio below 40%, and equity in a home Americans can save greatly.
When looking at historical chart of mortgage rates it is quite obvious that today’s mortgage rates are very close to all-time lows. The housing market has never seen mortgage rate below 5% for such a long period of time. With this being the case it would always be smart to consider saving as much money as possible by refinancing to a lower mortgage interest rate.
