It is always a wise decision to check your credit report at least once a year to make sure there are no errors or mistakes. There are a large number of Americans who continue to go through life without checking their credit report which in turn could negatively affect their credit score. With mistakes on a credit report some Americans could be paying higher interest rates than they deserve.

With this being the case it is always a smart decision to check your credit report as much as possible. With one free annual credit report there is no reason to pass up the opportunity to check this credit history at least once a year. With the government offering this opportunity many Americans can save greatly by making certain that their credit report is completely free of errors.
