Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – Refinance ARM, Fixed and VA Loan Rates Near All Time Lows
Posted on | August 31, 2010 | No Comments
Over the last month we have seen some of the lowest interest rates in the history of the United States. Today’s lowest mortgage interest rates have dropped to levels never seen before as the conventional 30 year fixed rate is around 4.25%. Many mortgage types including ARM, fixed and VA loan rates are very low at the present time.
It is also important to understand that there are many mortgage lenders throughout the country that are offering very attractive mortgage interest rates. By doing research online many homeowners will likely find that there are local mortgage lenders in their area that can help them locked in the low mortgage interest rates today. It takes a very good credit score and a low debt to income ratio to have any opportunity to lock in to these low rates.
Over the next several weeks it will likely be the case that many Americans look to refinance rather than purchase a new home. It has been true that almost 80% of mortgage applications have been to refinance over the last several weeks. First-time homebuyers are sitting on the sidelines and hoping for another government tax credit as an incentive to buy a new home in 2010.
