The free annual credit report from the US government has been a hot topic lately as many Americans are looking to refinance and they would like to make certain that their credit report is free of errors. There is currently one free credit report each year available from the credit bureaus Experian, Equifax and Transunion. It is very important to remember that this free report is only available at one website – annualcreditreport.com.
It is imperative to make certain that there are no errors on a credit report as it can negatively affect a credit score and hurt the opportunity to lock in low interest rates. This is one of the many reasons it is wise to check a credit report at least once a year. There is no reason to pass up on this opportunity as it is free.
With this chance to check a credit report it is important to remember that a credit score will usually come with a fee that is between $15 and $30. Sometimes it is worth it to spend the extra money to get a numerical value on a specific financial situation.
