Weekly Unemployment Claims Rise 12,000 to 500k – No Tier 5 Unemployment Benefits Extension for 99ers in August

Posted on | August 19, 2010 | 6 Comments

For the week ending August 14th, the weekly unemployment claims unexpectedly jumped 12,000 to a total of 500,000.  This was a surprising number as many analysts expected a drop.  This is quite a few weeks in a row that we have seen an unexpected jump in unemployment claims.  With no Tier 5 Unemployment Benefits Extension for 99ers this makes it even more alarming that the unemployment claims continue to rise.

With the fact that these 99ers and other Americans who have exhausted their resources not being included in these numbers it is truly the case that the job market is horrible.  There are many who greatly oppose a Tier 5 Unemployment Benefits Extension but it is very hard to make that argument with weekly unemployment claims jumping every single week.

No matter what the opinion is on the unemployment extension it continues to be the case that more people are claiming unemployment.  Even if there are some out there that are abusing the system there are still millions that are putting forth the effort and cannot find a job in the horrible economic conditions.

Enough is enough! Legal U.S citizens unite! Help take the steps to save our country take our jobs back and stop this illegal immigrant invasion. Support our cause before illegal immigrant criminals have more rights than us. This is our last stand! If other online articles report unemployment is around 20% and there are 310 million in the U.S census reports. Then there is as many as 62 million people in the U.S that are unemployed & are able to work full-time. Do we have to reach 150 million unemployed before we take action? Also we must take steps to lower local city and state councilmen salaries too they are all robbing & hurting the people they serve. So please read and sign this online petition. “Petition to Reduce the Wages of Congress Men and Women from $174,000 per year to $50,000 per year at “change.org’. ” Link is below!

    Pass it on!

Outstanding reporting, but to a small minority who care, but don’t count. I read the article in one of the Gannett Newspapers. (A conservative newspaper). President Obama believes that extending the Bush Tax Cuts makes sense, and beyond that, the economy should correct itself (including unemployment).

There was no mention of Tier 5, only tax cuts and concern about the deficit. After searching through lots of hard copy in printed form, I am wondering if this posting is all a big joke~!

Washington continues to receive advice from Economists predicted that there would be a sharp drop in new unemployment claims this week, only to be surprised that there was a sharp increase. GEE, what a surprise. Surprise, surprise folks.

Think its bad now? wait till the end of the year. Now will be known as the good ole days .
It truly is amazing how the deomocrats control the house and senate and have a president but cant get anything done? All they do is the blame game to further there agenda and watch while millions suffer.

Analyze this…. There are no jobs abvailable.
Who are the “surprised” analysts? Do they live in the real world.. or are they in some bubble some where? or maybe more to the point are they bsing for OBAMA so he won’t look as bad as he is??? those are the questions on my mind.
