Many Americans continue to struggle when it comes to personal finances and many of these same people have searched for a government credit card debt relief or debt settlement plan. It is very important to understand that there is no such thing as a government or Obama credit card debt relief program. In fact, the Obama administration has greatly changed the debt relief industry in 2010.

It will no longer be the case that debt relief companies can charge upfront fees. In the past, many of these companies have made a significant amount of money charging upfront fees. Luckily, customers no longer have to worry about being scammed out of their money and charged upfront fees without receiving any services. President Obama and his staff have addressed this issue.

Before making any final decisions when it comes to credit card debt relief for debt settlement it is always wise for customers to analyze their situation. One of the best ways to find debt relief without any help of a company is to create a very good budget which makes sure that customers say much more than they spend.
