The payday loan industry has been a very hot topic of debate over the last several years as many policymakers feel that there are many “one hour bad credit payday loan” lenders that are using predatory lending practices to take advantage of Americans who are in need of financial assistance at the present time.
In July of 2010, it is the case that approximately one half of the 24,000 payday cash advance locations are members of the CFSA. The Community Financial Services Association of America (CFSA) was created to ensure consumer confidence in the payday loan industry. From the CFSA Website:
“CFSA’s mission is to promote legislation and regulation that protect consumers, while preserving their access to short-term credit options, and to support and encourage responsible industry practices.”
The CFSA has created a “best practices” that most be completed to be a member of the CFSA community. Although there are still payday lenders that are looking to take advantage of opportunities there are also many lenders that are looking to provide a service for those in need through an ethical means.
