Short Sales Training Partnership Between Century 21 and Distressed Properties Institute

Today it was announced that a deal was signed between Century 21 and Distressed Property Institute to offer brokers certified training when it comes to short sales. The president and CEO of Century 21 points out that in the current housing market brokers need to adjust their practices and knowledge to assist sellers. One of the options of selling in a distressed market is a short sale.
With government programs in place such as the Making Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP and Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives (HAFA) there has been an increased demand from sellers to better understand options when it comes to a short sale.
Many housing experts feel that brokers should become much more active when it comes to short selling opportunities. Although many sellers do not want to hear this phrase it is a much better option than going through foreclosure in 2010. Earlier today, PartnerFirst and the National Association of Real Estate Brokers signed a deal to offer short sales in minority communities.
