With many Americans taking the necessary steps to save more money than they spend it comes as no surprise to see the amount of searches for a high yield savings account increase. At the present time there are checking account interest rates over 4% in states throughout the country.

In June 2010 you will likely find that there are many checking accounts available that currently offer interest rates that are attractive. Just because there are interest rates available about 4% does not mean that you will have the ability to submit an application for this type of checking account.

Most of these accounts are available at local community banks and you will have to have residency in a specific area to have any opportunity to lock in to these high-yield checking accounts. This is why it would be important to start your research locally so you know you’ll be able to submit an application for these types of accounts.

There are also some restrictions on these high yield savings or checking account as you will have to have 10 transactions with an ATM or debit card and at least one electronic transfer into the account each and every month. By doing this you will likely receive a very attractive interest rate.
