Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – Bank of America, Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo Home Loan Rate Offers

Posted on | May 29, 2010 | Comments Off

Today’s lowest mortgage interest rates are very close to all time lows as the 10 year treasury rate yield is well below its 200 day moving average.  The big four banks of America, Bank of America, Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo, are reporting home loan rate offers under 4.75% for 30 year fixed mortgage rates.

It is very important to understand that not all homeowners are going to have access to interest rates this low.  You will need a significant amount of home equity and a credit score that is well above 740 to have any opportunity to lock in to a rate under 5% at the present time.

It is also important to understand that the big 4 banks are not the only options when it comes to mortgage rates.  By doing some diligent research you will likely come up with many options of local mortgage lenders that can provide great customer service and a very impressive interest rate offer.

Over the last several weeks many homeowners have had the ability to refinance to lower rates.  With this being the case it should come as no surprise to see refinance activity data increase.  It will be interesting to see if this continues into June of 2010.
