Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – Bank Rates Still Around 4.5% for 30 Year Fixed Rates

Today’s lowest mortgage interest rates are very close to all-time lows as we are currently seeing bank rates still around 4.5% for the 30 year fixed mortgage. When looking at historical chart of mortgage interest rates it is very noticeable that we are getting very close to all-time low territory.
Over the last several weeks mortgage interest rates have dropped as the European debt crisis has become a major concern. As this concern has escalated the 10 year treasury rate yield has declined which in turn has pushed 30 year fixed mortgage rates down as well.
Many borrowers have the opportunity to lock in to low rates at the present time with a strong financial portfolio. By having a credit score over 740 and a low debt to income ratio Americans could find that they could lock into mortgage rates as low as 4.5%.
Without these requirements homeowners could find it very difficult to get mortgage rates at the advertised levels. This is why it is very important to make certain you know your credit score before going into the refinance or home purchasing process.
