The Obama mortgage bailout program and plan was created to help Americans avoid the horrible process of foreclosure. By going through home loan modification with the making home affordable plan Americans can reduce their monthly mortgage payment which in turn could help them stay in their home.
Over the last several months Pres. Obama and his staff have continued to tweak the making home affordable plan allowing those who are underwater and their mortgage or unemployed to receive a home loan modification. It is very important to note that not all Americans will qualify for a home loan modification.
At the beginning of this program there were many critics and there is little argument that program got off to a slow start. President Obama realized this and made sure that there were options available for Americans to reduce their monthly mortgage payment which could help them make their home loan more affordable.
It will be very interesting to see how long this program lasts and how many people are truly help. President Obama has set some lofty goals for this program and some of them have not been met.
