Posted on | May 24, 2010 | Comments Off

Many Americans are doing a much better job of controlling their finances over the last several months which means the amount of searches for high-yield savings accounts have increased. This being the case many Americans are looking for checking account rates at or above 4% in late May of 2010.

Fortunately there are several community banks located throughout the country that are offering attractive interest rates. It is important to note that you must be a resident of a specific county to have an opportunity to walk into a high interest rate with a particular community savings or checking account.

It would be a wise decision to start researching your local community so you can find the best opportunities available. If you do not have residency in a specific county you are going to find it nearly impossible to submit an application to that specific bank. Make a mental note of this before you go to the application process at many banks.

Over the next several months many Americans will have the opportunity to lock into a high-yield savings account. The concept of compounding interest has made many Americans a significant amount of money over the course of their lifetime. You do not want to miss out on this opportunity as you could build great wealth.
