Posted on | May 24, 2010 | Comments Off

There has been some going back and forth with the current government financial reform bill but it is currently the case that the free credit score amendment is on the bill.  If passed borrowers can ask for a free credit score if they have been denied a loan or job due to their poor credit score.

It is very important to note that this is much different than the government free annual credit report.  At any time Americans can access annualcreditreport.com and check out their credit report for free at least once a year.  The free credit score will not work this way.

Over the next few weeks it will be very interesting to see how these rules and laws are formed.  The government financial reform bill is expected to greatly help Americans save money and better understand their financial situations.  We will attempt to dissect come of these bills in the weeks ahead.

For those who have not checked their credit report in the last year it would be wise to access annualcreditreport.com and make sure your credit report is free of errors.  This could help you save a significant amount of money of the course of your lifetime.
