The free annual credit report available from the FTC has been a hot topic of conversation over the last several months. The FTC has worked hard to inform Americans that the only site sponsored by the government is annualcreditreport.com. at the present time there is likely to be a government free credit score in the near future as this amendment is being pushed through on the financial reform bill.
Unlike the free annual credit report available from the FTC the government free credit score will only be available when Americans are denied a job or loan. If you happen to be denied a job and your credit score is the main factor that you can find out this credit score for free.
Unfortunately, it is not the case that you can just go to a credit bureau and demand a free credit score. If you plan on doing this you will continue to have to pay a fee which is usually between $15 and $30. By accessing your free annual credit report you could get an idea of your credit score but she will never know exactly until you use the credit bureaus.
This amendment is likely to cause quite a stir in the financial community. There have been many searches over this issue and at the present time it looks as if this amendment will go through with the financial reform.
