Free Annual Credit Report from Government – No Free FICO Credit Score Passed at the Present Time

The free annual credit report available through the government has been a very popular topic over the last several months and with the financial reform bill being huge news at this time it has come up again. There has been a push for a free FICO credit score but this has not passed at the present time.
There will be a great deal of information about the government financial reform bill over the next several days and we may learn about the possibility of adjusts to help consumers get a free credit score. Sadly, statistics show that over 65% of Americans do not check their credit score at least once a year.
A credit score is one of the number one factors in determining the interest rate on any amount of money borrowed. Without knowing your credit score you are going into the loan process in the dark which could lead to disaster. It may also be the case that there are inaccuracies on your credit report that hurt your overall score.
By checking your credit score at least once a year you will be limiting the chance of mistakes and errors on your report. At the present time it costs money for a credit score but it is well worth it in the long run.
