Save Money Any Way Possible

High Yield Checking, Savings and Bank Accounts at Local Community Banks – Interest Rates Over 4% in May 2010

Posted on | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off

With Americans being much more intelligent with their money after the “Great Recession” it comes as no surprise to see many searches for high yield checking, savings and bank accounts at local community banks.  There are community banks spread throughout the country that are currently offering interest rate in excess of 4% on specific accounts.

It is very important to understand that you must be a resident of a specific county or area to apply for many of these high interest rate accounts.  Most local community banks force applicants to prove residency in a specific county.  It would be wise to contact local community banks in your area so you do not have to go through the trouble of proving residency in counties outside your area.

Most of these high yield accounts force customers to use an ATM or debit card at least 10 times a month and have one electronic transfer into the account at least once a month.  If you can fulfill these commitments you could get a yield over 4% on the money in that specific account.
