Obama Mortgage Bailout and Loan Modification Plan – Lower Monthly Mortgage Payments with an Underwater Mortgage
Posted on | April 28, 2010 | Comments Off
The Obama mortgage bailout and loan modification plan was designed to help struggling home owners stay in their homes and avoid foreclosure. Over the last few years we have seen the foreclosure rate skyrocket which in turn has sent home prices downward. President Obama and his staff have been very adamant about fixing the foreclosure problem and part of their plan is the Making Home Affordable plan.
The Making Home Affordable plan will allow homeowners to reduce their monthly mortgage payments to a much more manageable level. Even if you are underwater in your mortgage or unemployed you will find that there are options to lower your overall monthly payments.
It would be wise to research on the Making Home Affordable website to get a much better idea of the options available. Please understand that not all homeowners will qualify for this plan as there are many guidelines that must be met before getting into a permanent mortgage modification.
It might also be a good idea to contact your mortgage lender. All mortgage lenders are expected to participate in this program so everyone who is having trouble paying their mortgage can avoid foreclosure.
