Many struggling Americans are searching for a Federal Government credit card debt relief program but it is very important to understand that no such program exists.  What the Government and FTC have does is to create many free resources available online that can help you better understand your rights and strategies to get out of debt through hard work and budgeting.

By accessing the FTC website at FTC.gov you can find many free papers that will explain a great deal about debt management.  If you find yourself struggling to find answers then a great resource is the FTC.  All the papers and articles on the website are free of charge so you can create your own budget and relief plan.

In February President Obama signed the Credit CARD Act which will greatly change the way credit cards produce bill statements.  It is now the case that consumers will see just how long it will take them to pay off their credit cards if they make the minimum payments or a particular payment each month.  This could greatly help many struggling with credit card debt to realize they must pay more on their balances each month.
