Posted on | April 22, 2010 | Comments Off

With 30 year fixed mortgage rates coming in below 5% many Americans are looking to compare mortgage interest rates today.  Three of the big mortgage lenders that are offering low rates at the present time are JP Morgan Chase, CitiMortgage and Wachovia.  It is very important to understand that these are not the only options.  These are some of the bigger mortgage lenders but by doing your research you are likely going to find that there are many other mortgage lenders that can offer you great customer service with some very attractive interest rates.

It is also very important to understand that not all Americans will qualify for mortgage rates below 5%.  You will need a very strong credit score, above 740, and a debt to income ratio below 40%.  If you do not meet these requirements then you can guess that you will receive an interest rate offer that is higher than 5%.

With the advancements of the Internet and technology it is much easier than it has ever been to do personal finance research online.  By simply doing some Google searches you will likely find many mortgage lenders that can help you to get a low mortgage interest rate today.
