Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – Refinancing in April 2010 at Low Home Loan Rates

Posted on | March 30, 2010 | No Comments

Today’s lowest mortgage interest rates are around 4.9% for 30 year fixed mortgage rates and 4.25% for 15 year fixed mortgage rates.  If you are looking to refinance in April of 2010 at low home loan rates then it might be a wise decision to take action today.  If you continue to wait their is a chance that rates could move higher.

At the end of March 2010 the Federal Reserve Bank is going to stop purchasing mortgage backed securities.  Many analysts have predicted that home loan rates will move up at least one full percentage point at the conclusion of this program.  It will be very interesting to see how interest rates react after the program is over.

It is also the case that the 10 year treasury rate yield has started to move much higher.  Last week the 10 year yield broke through its 50 day moving average.  With little overhead resistance there is a chance that the 10 year yield could move up greatly.  This would push mortgage rates well above 5%.

There are many mortgage lenders who are still offering low mortgage rates.  Before thinking that you can get a mortgage interest rate below 5% it would be wise to contact a few lenders and make sure that you can gain access to these low interest rates.
