First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Extension – $8000 Tax Credit Expanded?

The first time home buyer tax credit extension is going to be a hot topic over the next few weeks as the expiration is April 30th, 2010. If you are not under contract by April 30th, 2010 you will not receive the tax credit as a first time home buyer or a move up home buyer. At the current time there is an $8000 tax credit for a first time buyer and a $6500 tax credit for a move up buyer.
With the expiration just a few weeks away we can almost guess that Washington will start talking about this issue very soon. Look for the first time home buyer tax credit extension to be mainstream news as we get to the end of March and into the beginning of April. To resolve the issue of the extension we will likely have many debates.
Instead of leaving it up to Washington it would be best to get started today so you can be under contract by April 30th, 2010. If you do your homework now and find the home of your dreams then you could be under contract before you know it. It is very important to make sure and take the necessary steps before diving in headfirst.
At the present time mortgage interest rates are very low, home prices are attractive and there is a first time home buyer tax credit available. If you are considering buying a home now is one of the best times in history as there are many factors on your side.
